These portraits were all taken in one day, on July 23, 2016 at the annual Ocean Park Surf Contest in Santa Monica, California. I set up a 10’x10’ all black photo booth pop-up tent just steps from the water. I encouraged all contestants, spectators, family members and passersby to enter the tent and have their photos taken. It turned out to be a fascinating and eclectic group who all share their love for the ocean.
